Ashley Smith

Owner + Managing Director

Ashley’s focus is on creating opportunities and developing solutions which address climate change – both mitigation (emissions reductions and energy efficiency) and adaptation (infrastructure resiliency and eco-asset management).

Ashley has a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and Chemistry from McGill University and a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto. Ashley is LEED® Accredited, trained in ISO 14064 for GHG emissions quantification, and has over 18 years’ experience in building design, community planning, construction project management, and renewable energy. Her combination of education and professional experience gives her a comprehensive approach to generating innovative solutions and implementing valuable outcomes.

In 2023, Ashley obtained the Photovoltaic Associate (PVA) credential from the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP), demonstrating her knowledge of solar energy system design, installation, and maintenance.

Emma Power

Consultant

Emma’s focus is on reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and building resilience to climate change impacts at the same time. Emma can calculate your carbon footprint via a GHG Inventory, assess risk to your assets and processes via a climate change vulnerability assessment, identify opportunities to both mitigate and adapt via a Climate Action Plan, and secure funding to implement projects.

Emma is a Professional Engineer registered with PEGNL. She holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from Memorial University. She has completed training in ISO 14064-1, -2 and -3 for carbon accounting. Emma has gained diverse experience through projects and work terms covering construction project management, data analysis, mechanical design, thermal modelling, renewable energy, asset management, waste management, food security, and climate communications.

In 2022, Emma obtained the Photovoltaic Associate (PVA) credential from the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP), demonstrating her knowledge of solar energy system design, installation, and maintenance.

Geoff Stevens

Consultant

Geoff’s focus is on collaborating with organizations to achieve their individual sustainability objectives through comprehensive and life cycle approaches. Geoff is keen to deliver projects that reduce GHG emissions, enhance the environment, and provide value to stakeholders. Geoff is especially interested in renewable energy, direct air carbon capture, electric vehicles, designing out waste, and circular economy.

Geoff is a Professional Engineer registered with PEGNL. He holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Memorial University, and a Masters in Engineering for Sustainable Development from the University of Cambridge. During his 10-year career, Geoff has managed projects and operations in the municipal, mining, oil and gas, and agricultural sectors. His project experience includes feasibility studies, health and safety projects, energy efficiency, process improvement, municipal wastewater systems, and asset management.

Chowder

Tech and Emotional Support

Chowder’s focus is on ensuring that all keyboards are functioning properly and as many virtual meetings as possible have some comic relief. He is an alumnus of both the Thompson and Winnipeg Humane Societies and is up to date on all his vaccinations. Chowder works hard to ensure that his fellow employees are supported emotionally so that they can continue to perform their best.
