It has been a full year since Hurricane Fiona devastated the Southwest Coast of the Island of Newfoundland, specifically the Town of Channel-Port aux Basques (a municipal client of ours since 2018).

Ashley recently spoke with Sarah Smellie at The Canadian Press about the ongoing struggles of residents and Town Officials to process what has occurred and anticipate what else could come due to climate change – in Port aux Basques and in any other low-elevation, coastal community.

You can read the story in the Globe and Mail or the Toronto Star.

Last week was “Climate Week” on CBC’s The Signal with Adam Walsh. Ashley was a guest on Wednesday’s show (September 20th, 2023). We’re so grateful for these opportunities to add to the conversation about reducing emissions and increasing resilience to climate change impacts in Newfoundland and Labrador communities.
