The Town of Conception Bay South engaged Fundamental Inc., in partnership with Common Good Solutions, to undertake research and engagement to develop a Clean Energy Opportunities, Gaps, and Action Plan. The purpose of this scope of work was to identify and explore opportunities for Town economic growth in the clean energy sector and for improved environmental sustainability in general. The resulting report aims to provide guidance from an economic development lens on how the Town can increase participation in the growth of the low carbon economy.
To complete the work, Fundamental Inc. undertook the following project activities:
- Met with local expertise in the clean energy and cleantech sectors
- Scan of industry best practices for cleantech economic growth and municipal alignment with the principles of the low carbon economy
- Three internal ideation workshops to consolidate the collected information, identify gaps and opportunities and draft strategic action areas, and specific action items within each action area
- Two detailed review periods with Conception Bay South Town Staff and Councillor
- Drafting of the final report and summary infographic
